53-This hanger replaces the rear of the rear spring, it includes a new grade 8 spring bolt with poly bushings for a better ride and the mounting bolts that go to the frame. It does not lift or lower the truck as the extended Y hangers we have do the lowering in this area, Sy says lengthening the Y hangers gives a better ride than lifting this hanger so we made the hanger the same as the original, but better of course. The new spring hangers, both adjustable and new rear rear one have a bolt and poly bushings instead of a pin and metal bushings.

First the poly bushing is slicker so the spring eye turns more freely on the bolt, letting spring eye turn on bushing and bushing turn on bolt. Original setup had a metal bushing, pin and grease fitting, the design was intended to be greased on a regular basis, which of course probably did not happen.
Second the poly does not have the tendency to "squeak" like metal on metal, and some metal bushings were brass, to help with this, but they wear faster than poly.
Third, and I think just as important, is that poly bushings also cover the spring eye on the sides, originally spring eye just worked itself against hanger edges, no hope for grease and a big wear area. Now the spring eye can also slip inside the "casing" of poly, no squeaks, no grinding of metal on metal. This also helps "wear" problem, just a tiny bit side to side on hangers and eye of spring means a "squirmy" feeling rear axle, causes all kinds of wear in other places and an aggravating "feel" to the drive.
