Pitman Arm, 53-56, 400 And Toyota Conversion
Part Number: 4623
NOTE: THIS FITS A 1953-56 TRUCK.
FOR 48-52 PLEASE SEE NEW 4623-4852, SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR THE 48-52
Fits both manual and power TOYOTA box and NEW 400 BOX
Hardened & installed drag link ball and Toyota splines.Toyota steering is intended for Floor shift automatic, or Flat One arm Auto like on Ididit, GM, Flaming river, etc columns that are sold in many places as well as in our catalog.
If using stock automatic or clutch set up, modification will be needed and use a coupler instead of a U-joint to allow more room for the double arm styles.
The manual box shaft is the same a s the power box shaft on all the years. Not sure why it was assumed they were not but we do make the pitman arm for the conversion of BOTH MANUAL AND POWER and so does CPP now.
Note Sy notes in our catalog not to use the Ford pitman, Truck'n did an article once that said you could but, NO, It will not hold and I have been trying for years to advise people not to try it.
