single wall tailgate means there is no pocket on the sides like on the 53-56 gate.
This is exact of original for 50-52 (note tailgate latch ear differences in these years and check yours to be sure as they changed midyear.
Gate will fit beds from 50-72 with changes in the chains.

1950 TRUCK BEDS CHANGED MID YEAR. 

1950 EARLY Series: still had steel floor, curved stake pockets and embossed bed sides.

        Many of the 50-Early bed pieces fit back to 42.

1950 LATE Series: had new wood floor, rectangular stake pockets and smooth bed sides (no embossing).

        Many of 50-Late bed pieces continued to fit Flare-side beds through 53-6 series and beyond.
