ADJUSTING STAR LOCK WASHER, Use with adjusting bolt WITH SLOT KEYWAY. allows finger adjustment of adjusting bolt, holds bolt in place when tightening nut.
Note if you are having leaks in this area use the adjusting bolt with NO Slot and matching washer.
Used mostly pre 53, use with adjusting bolt WITH slot-keyway.
Pre 53 boxes used the star washer WITH keyway and slotted bolt. This was a source of tiny leaks so after 53 most boxes had NO keyway,.
Note that we make the adjusting bolts both ways and they now can be used in boxes from 1948-60
